Contemporary Upholstered Side Chair with Ladder Back

Both rustic and modern are adjectives that were used as we created these pieces. Clean lined cases with beveled and box mitered picture frame details are veneered with a herringbone pattern surrounding each bank of drawers to create subtle detail. Plinth bases are recessed to create a floating effect and rounding out the contemporary lines. This group is veneered with extra thick cut and cathedral White Oak with flake for a natural organic vibe. The finish employs significant hand ageing including wirebrushing and rocking and rasp and gouging to create the desired rustic effect.The upholstered beds feature Culp's Omari fabric. Constructed with an offset basket weave and this fabric consists of a polyester and rayon and and linen yarn blend. The plied slub yarns are used in both the warp and weft direction to create a subtle color contrast and add overall texture.
